"This year has been incredibly isolating," Anstead captioned an Instagram photo of herself. "Despite what you see on Instagram, most people are struggling."
Anstead also explained that the criticism she's received over posts that don't include her children are baseless.
"When I get told 'you must be an absent mother because you are not with your kids' – smh wake up people," Anstead wrote. "I hardly post anymore … and I def do not want to post my kids every freaking day to make it a contest of who's a better parent."
Anstead explained that her choice not to post photos of her children was actually something she'd done mindfully. "This doesn't mean I'm not with my kids – it means the opposite – I am with them- I'm present," she wrote.
Anstead's missive comes hot on the heels of her estranged husband, Ant, and ex-husband, Tareq El Moussa, posting photos of themselves with their kids on Halloween, with both men earning praise from fans for their involvement as parents.
The reality star even seemed to defend her exes in her post, encouraging fans to "stop parent shaming people [and] stop choosing sides when there is no side to choose."

Megan Fox wasn't about to let estranged husband Brian Austin Green off the hook for posting a photo of himself and the couple's youngest child, Journey, on Halloween.
"You're so intoxicated with feeding the pervasive narrative that I'm an absent mother, and you are the perennial, eternally dedicated dad of the year. You have them half of the time. Congratulations you truly are a remarkable human!" she commented on the post. Green responded by cropping the little one out of the photo.
